The Burundi government condemned this article as "fake news" on Twitter.
2017 – An opinion piece about the far-right activists attempting to block NGO rescue missions at sea, for the Washington Post.
2016 – An investigation for BuzzFeed News. I uncovered one apparent incident of a rape aired in real time and asked what it means for the companies that host this content.
The piece was the subject for a segment on BBC Radio 4's 'Women's Hour'.
2017 – A report from Rwanda for the New York Times about a 300-strong group of women who are demanding access to Burundi’s peace talks.
2015 – An interactive report for BuzzFeed News. I designed and wrote a piece in which I followed the struggle of a young man in Turkey via a conversation on WhatsApp.
The piece was nominated for a British Journalism Awards as part of BuzzFeed's New Formats team.
2015 – A report for BuzzFeed News into gender violence and femicide around the globe. It was described by the New York Times 'Women In the World' as a "stunning exploration."
2017 – A report from Guatemala City for the Guardian into the governments failure to protect 41 girls from dying in a fire at their orphanage.
2017 – A report from El Salvador for Vice News about how a series of gang killings of transgender women has shaken the country's trans community.
2016 – An investigation for BuzzFeed News. I exposed how tabloids recycle the same stories with the same dozen or so single mothers claiming benefits over and over again, and how they work with agents to coordinate media coverage of people living in near poverty.
2017 – A report from France for VICE News during the 2017 election. I visited the northeastern suburb of Bondy, Paris, to talk to the Muslim community about the threat of the far-right.
2017 – A report from Frankfurt, Germany for Newsweek about the role of fake news in the upcoming election. I tracked down the man who made up a viral story about a "migrant sex mob."
2016 – A report from Belgium for BuzzFeed News. Forty-eight hours after the attacks, I found the survivors of the Brussels airport bombing trapped in a defiant city and unsure of what's next.
2017 – An op-ed for Teen Vogue about the feigned concern about women in the Middle East and how it's a response to outspoken feminism on the Internet.

2015 – A report from Croatia for BuzzFeed News. I spoke to the refugees in Zagreb who waited day and night for a way to move further into Europe.
2015 – A report from the Macedonia-Serbia border for BuzzFeed News. I spoke to families that arrived at Tabanovce train station in northern Macedonia, fleeing war back home in Syria.
